Product Details
This Chevy Desert Cooler Optima copper core 6-cylinder radiator is the best cooling down-flow copper core radiator you can buy. It is constructed with 4 rows of ½" vertical down-flow cooling tubes on 5/16" centers with a 2-5/8" thick core. The 5/16" tube spacing actually gives enough additional tubes to equate the radiator to a 6-row radiator! The brass top and bottom tanks are ribbed with the inlet and outlets in the stock location. The 6-cylinder position radiator is flanged to mount in front of the core support bar to give the clearance needed for the longer 6-cylinder engine. This configuration is also handy for long water pump small blocks and big block engine installations. The bottom tank on this automatic transmission radiator includes a built-in transmission cooler. In addition, the overflow tube requires the addition of a rubber hose extension in order to dump at the bottom like the steel original did. Additional items you may want to purchase include radiator cap P/N 18-31 or 209-90 and petcock P/N 18-116. Also be sure to consider new upper & lower radiator hoses and clamps when you purchase a new radiator. This new Chevy Desert Cooler Optima 6-cylinder position manual transmission copper core radiator is ready to bolt-in and replace your leaky, overheating original with 4-rows of super-cooling!
