If you have a factory 1959-60 power steering set up, because of the increased diameter of the sway bar, the 1959 cast power steering cylinder mounting bracket must be changed to a 1960 stamped steel style. With the 1960 style bracket, the sway bar opening will still have to be enlarged. Some trimming of the sway bar bushing on the power steering cylinder side may be necessary in order to have the bushing sit flat in the sway bar bracket. El Caminos with manual or 605 conversion steering system will not need this bracket. The 1960 power steering cylinder bracket is currently not reproduced. Please contact an El Camino Store representative if you need us to supply one from our used stock.
