These Chevelle Del-a-lum tubular control arms achieve unequaled suspension control which can be utilized for street, strip or racing. These control arms must be used in conjunction with taller 8-15/16 GM spindles found on 1973-77 Chevelles, Malibus and El Caminos to gain the benefits of proper caster settings. The Del-a-lum bushing found on these control arms performs more like a ball bearing than a bushing; the outer steel sleeve contains an internal plastic insert which rotates on a steel inner sleeve. Each side of the bushing is reinforced with additional plastic thrust washers backed by steel thrust washers which provides control of fore and aft bushing flexion. A grease fitting is utilized with each bushing to provide full-access lubrication which leads to longer bushing life. Del-a-lum bushings do not squeak or make noise making the fit and function superb for your restoration. When using Del-a-lum upper control arms and taller GM spindles, you instantly raise the caster alignment settings. You will obtain immediate gains in high speed stability, road feel and improved handling though corners. Also, improving the caster will extend tire life by keeping the tire contact patch parallel with the pavement rather than rolling over hard onto the sidewall of the tire during cornering which is an inherent defect of the original suspension design. Front ride height will drop approximately 1-inch because of the taller spindle and lower ball joint combination. This lowers the center of gravity and improves vehicle appearance without sacrificing suspension travel.
