Firewall grommets are necessary for a complete restoration or any daily driver first design 1950, 1951, 1952, 1953, 1954 or 1955 Chevy or GMC Truck. A rubber firewall grommet is designed to go around parts such as speedometer cables, oil lines, choke or throttle cables, etc. and seal them off from the engine compartment where they pass through the fire wall. If your Chevy or GMC truck does not have these grommets, winter chill, summer heat, engine heat and noxious gasses can pass through firewall holes into the passenger compartment.
