It is made of ethylene propylene diene monomer or EPDM, a modern synthetic rubber that has great durability and is resistant to the ozone and UV rays. The EPDM is soft so the windows seal easily and has a Teflon/latex coating rather than a cloth covering for a non-stick release. Not having the cloth covering means that this roofrail weatherstrip won't develop unsightly unraveling threads.
