Why can't I just use a normal rivet from my local hardware store? Although you can do this, automotive rivets are made for specific applications and tolerances. Hardware store rivets may loosen over time creating increased and unnecessary wear. These blind rivets are designed exclusively for the auto industry to work in tight tolerances and high vibration applications. Why risk unnecessary problems for the savings of a few cents?
These Blind Rivets feature
Automatic wide-tolerance hole alignment: Since the rivet can expand up to its own head diameter, accurate hole sizing or alignment is not necessary.
Pulls the regulator to the door shell tighter: The extraordinary rivet tail expansion automatically effects superior clamp-up action on the parts being assembled.
Clamps over a vast range of thicknesses: The "double-bubble" expansion feature offers the capability to fasten securely in both thick and thin grip ranges with a single length rivet.
Provides a sealing steam: The rivet material flows both behind and in front of the mandrel insuring a positively retained and seal stem.
