This molded ABS Chevy firewall insulation pad is an updated replacement of the original firewall and dash pad that covers the entire inner firewall. This pad is made of tough black ABS plastic and has heat and sound insulation qualities far superior to the original Chevy cardboard firewall pad. In addition, the plastic is far easier to clean and maintain and soil resistant than the cardboard. The construction of this pad makes it the perfect upgrade for your custom car. The original Chevy pads can even become a fire hazard; so be sure to inspect yours and replace if necessary. Be sure to make this decision early in the restoration process, as this pad is the first item to install under your dash before wiring, gauges, heater, etc…This ABS pad is fully molded so no shaping is required to fit the firewall. All of the heater, wiring, hood hinge, steering column and fastener holes are pre-punched for easy installation. These punch-outs may be left intact if you car is not equipped with a heater or for custom installations. The firewall insulation pad uses 13 pad fasteners P/N 34-109; the same as the original Chevy pad in your classic. The lower rubber seal that overlaps the forward carpet is double sewn just like original.
