Lonestar XXXI Classic Chevy Convention

Classic Chevy fun deep in the heart of Texas!

The Lonestar XXXI Classic Chevy Convention was held in San Angelo, TX on June 25, 2013. We expected about 70 cars, but unfortunately the weather was threatening and some folks stayed home – giving us 49 registered vehicles.
Even though this was a smaller show, we were pleased to see cars come from Austin, Dallas, Houston, San Angelo, San Antonio, and Waco in Texas and from as far away as San Diego, CA, and even Western Australia. Thanks to all who attended!
Saturday morning was Show and Shine time. All the participants visited and shined up their cars. In the afternoon we had a cruise to the beautiful Concho River in downtown San Angelo. About thirty cars participated in the cruise and a great time was had by all! We stopped at a park and visited for a while then proceeded to the International Lily Collection. San Angelo is famous world-wide for their flower collection. Visiting the Lilies was a suggestion of one of the ladies in the cruise group. After the cruise some folks visited Historic Downtown San Angelo. There they saw an old general store and even a bordello!
Saturday night arrived and we had a fantastic banquet at The Clarion Hotel. We had steak and chicken and awesome triple chocolate cake for dessert. After the awards were presented, the DJ played some classic ’50s tunes and everyone got into the swing of things, dancing throughout the evening. Good times!

55 56 57 Chevrolet club of Western Australia – This family attended while on vacation. They did not bring their car.

Central Texas Classic Chevy Club, Austin, TX. This club had the most members attending with fourteen.
